Blossman Gas and Alliance AutoGas will be participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new refueling station on Sept. 29 in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Alliance AutoGas is a national coalition of businesses founded by Blossman Gas to provide the fuel, technology and ongoing support to autogas fleets across the country. The coalition’s autogas refueling location is part of Northeast Tennessee Rural Public Transportation (Net Trans).

Net Trans began implementing an autogas program with help from Alliance AutoGas in 2016, and supports the surrounding community with a fleet of autogas transit vans. The regional public transit system serves numerous counties in the northeast region of Tennessee, according to Alliance AutoGas, along with urbanized areas outside the city limits for Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City. As part of the First Tennessee Human Resource Agency, Net Trans is a non-profit, which contributes to improving the quality of life for the people of northeast Tennessee through social services.

The Kingsport refueling station will be the third refueling center in the region for Net Trans, and will be located at the city’s U-Haul location.

“It is exciting to see how far Net Trans’ autogas program has progressed since coming on board with Alliance AutoGas,” says Happy Fox, an alternative fuel consultant for Alliance AutoGas. “The East Tennessee region has emerged as a leading area in the movement towards alternative fuel use. Alliance AutoGas looks forward to helping more fleets make the transition to operating on autogas.”

“We continue to see a need for our service, and autogas is helping us fulfill that need,” says Candace Gump, director of Net Trans. “Net Trans is proud to be adding a refueling location in Kingsport.”

According to Alliance AutoGas, Net Trans was named the 2017 winner of the annual Propane Autogas Fleet Award from the Propane Education & Research Council. This award recognized the program’s strong commitment and successful transition to propane use in fleet transit.

The East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition, part of the Clean Cities coalition network, has helped foster the relationship between Alliance AutoGas and fleets in the region. See the original article here.
